Online Learning - Frequently Asked Questions

How do I listen to a lesson?
There are 2 ways to listen to our courses – purchase your MP3 player already loaded with the audio course of your choice, or download the full MP3 course conveniently to your PC or Mac, to listen to the course at your PC or your own MP3 player.
How large are the course downloads?
We have endeavoured to keep audio quality high. Therefore the package is between 55 and 85MB, depending on language. For those on less reliable connections, the course can be downloaded as 14 separate files rather than a single archive.
Do I have to pay to listen to the small audio buttons on each lesson page?
No, these are free — listen as many times as you like.
I see "mp3 file" in place of the small audio buttons
The free audio requires Adobe flash player 6 or later. If you do not have flash or it is disabled, you will see a link that will let you download the mp3 file and play it on your computer.
No language supportSome characters show as boxes or ? on my computer
  • If you are using Mozilla (e.g. Firefox) or Opera, you need a unicode font which supports the writing system.
  • If you are using Internet Explorer, you need to install support for the language.
  • If you are using Internet Explorer and support for the language is already installed, you may need a more recent version of the font being used.
Wrong encodingThe non-English text is a string of weird characters?
Make sure that encoding is set to 'automatic' or to UTF-8 in your browser.
